Ring App - Lyric App won't connect to Samsung Edge 8

    I have the Samsung Edge 8, I just bought the Ring 2 security system. I tried connecting the Ring to the app and it just spins and never connects. I got my husband's Samsung 5 Note and it connected immediately and did everything it was supposed to do. Normally I would call Ring, thinking it was a RING problem, however, we also have the Honeywell Lyric thermostat and the same thing happened, couldn't connect on my phone but it sets up immediately on the Note...it has to be the Samsung Edge. Any ideas?
