I just bought this phone 3 days ago, Never had a smart phone prior.

Figured most things out, Figure ill prolly have some more questions in the future. But ive searched and checked the owner manual and cant figure this out.

How to i set a custom ringtone for text messages/voicemail notification ect.

I set a custom ringtone for incoming calls. I uploaded some songs from my computer onto my phone.

But when i go into settings and try to add a ringtone to my messages it only shows the stock messages.

Im sure its simple and im overlooking something but any help is appreciated.

one of the most simplest ways is to use es explorer. get es explorer from play store. download or transfer song to sd card or phone use es explorer to navigate to the song location. Play song using es media player and there will be an option to set it as alarm tone or ring tone. if you are rooted its even easier.

    Thank you, That worked great.

Is there a way to select the part of the song you want to play as the ringtone, Whether it be call/text ect? Like say i want the song to play at the second verse or in the middle of the song instead of just the beggining?

Well i figured out the above question, But now i have another.

Is there a way to make the ringtone you custom make from part of a song longer then 15 seconds? Do i just need a different app to do so (suggestions?). The app i downloaded lets me pick the part of the song i want but only 15 seconds long, I want something longer then that for a call ringtone, Like 30-45 seconds.

There is a way better and simpler way just make a folder on your internal sd card named ringtones and any audio file you drop in there will show up as your android system ringtones. And yes even whole songs will work.....
