When I receive a text messaage I get a ringtone, but isn't there a way for the ringtone to continue to play untill I check the message. All my other phones did this, one alert is easy to forget.
Try handcent, turn off your default message apps notification so you won't get double notified and set an mp3 or something. Also turn off pop up messages in handcent and if you like set reminder on. It's very customizable.
