    Hi,

I installed an SD card and decided to MOVE the "media" directory to the SDCard. MISTAKE!

The phone removed the ringtones from the SD card and now wont show any custom ringtones on either the phone memory or the SDCARD

In ASTRO I have the following directories:

    /mnt/sdcard/media/audio/ringtones
    /mnt/sdcard/media/audio/alarms
    /mnt/sdcard/media/audio/notifications

    /mnt/sdcard/external_sd/media/audio/ringtones
    /mnt/sdcard/external_sd/media/audio/alarms
    /mnt/sdcard/external_sd/media/audio/notifications

None of those directories show any of the default tones, though I can select them in the SOUND SETTINGS on the phone SETTINGS/SOUND options.

I have copied tones (.mps3) that were previously working into all these directories and although I can see them in astro, Kies Air, etc etc I cannot select them when I go into the main SETTINGS/SOUND options of the phone. All I see is the default ones (which as I said I cant see in Astro).

It's almost like a ghost directory has occurred, very confused.

    Please help????!?!?!?!?!

    Many thanks,

    Nige

Can you play your Mp3 files in your Music Player? (I mean the inbuilt Music Player of SGSII) If you can, then there is an option in the Menu of the player to SET the Played Mp3 as a ringtone. Once you have set your custom music files as Phone Ringtones, then you can select whichever ringtone you want via your Contacts.
