no matter what i do my ringtone will not stick. and are constantly randomly changing!!! the only way i can get a ringtone to stick is to change the format to .ogg and inject it into the system where all the default ringtones are kept! anyone know how to fix this or anyone else have this problem???????????????????

What are you using to set them? I use Ringdroid to make ringtones and set them and haven't had any issues.

I make them with audacity and put it on my sd card in media/ringtones or something like that. I don't remember exactly where they go. Then I set them in settings.

IM on broken out ROM but my wifes phone does the same thing stock non root and after I put broken out on hers it still does the same thing. Could it have to do with it being on the external card ?

I guess I will try that would I just put them in the same folder structure on the internal as it is on the external and have it show up in settings?

I had the same issue but only this time I wanted a different text msg notification but it doesn't stick either. If I set it to the one I want it plays the default one instead.

I stay having this same issue. Especially for a custom Twitter notification sound. I edit it on Audacity, then transfer it to my phone. Randomly it changes to some other ringtone when I get a new notification. Frustraiting!

Using Astro File Manager, or equivalent program, goto _ExternalSD and create a folder named Ringtones. Move all your file there and Android will pick them up and they'll appear under ringtones. Once picked they'll stay.

Same goes for the text alerts?
