Hey folks...

I've just released RollChart, which is a modern take on paper roll charts and road books that have used for decades by motorcyclists, bicyclists and rally drivers.

The application is free and features the following:

  • An editor for charts that uses a simple, plain text markup that can be copied, emailed, etc.
  • The ability to download a chart from the Internet
  • The ability to export and import charts to and from external storage (e.g., your SD card)
  • Segment counter
  • Single-segment distance and an accumulating odometer
  • Two-part tulip (ball-and-arrow) diagrams that allow things like combining the "go straight" and "bridge" symbols to mean "go over the bridge."
  • Forward and backward navigation by touching the upper or lower half of the screen
  • Built-in demo charts and reference material
  • Ways to customize the appearance of the chart while you're running it

Installing RollChart Upgrade (also available on the Android Market for $2.49) adds:

  • Touch-free forward/back navigation using your device's proximity sensor. All you have to do is wave your gloved hand over the phone.
  • A configurable "instant-on" scroll bar to allow instant access to any part of the chart.
  • The ability to combine more than two symbols into complex tulip diagrams.

All of the features in the upgraded version are enabled when viewing one of the built-in demo charts.

The full manual (which is built into the application) is available here: CLICKY

Hope you enjoy it!
