Any suggestions for shooting video on a rollercoaster? If there is a secure way of holding the GS2, I'll be getting some shots in August. If not, it stays in my pocket. Ideas?
On the top left hand side of the phone, there is a hole in which you can put one of those cellphone straps into (you must open the battery cover to loop through it). Get a strap so that it can't be slipped from your wrist. Kinda like the Wii controller straps where you can adjust the fit to your wrist. I think that would be the safest way other than supergluing your hand to the S2.
I don't suppose the official car suction pad dock would stick to a smooth/flat surface of the rollercoaster? get the seats at the front lol, and attach it to your arm with cord just in case.
Thanks. I have not actually received the phone yet, so did not realize it had a loop for a strap. That will be perfect. I'm going to get some awesome 1050p videos next month. Really looking forward to getting it.
1080p you mean? Hope you enjoy it! Well you will, it is an amazing phone. And don't drop it when you're going through a loop!
I made this one with my HTC Droid Incredible, and man, I was just white knuckling it! I would rather have a lanyard! http://youtu.be/eyNiMcAaj8U
I was taking some pictures from a narrow bridge over a gorge recently and I was worrying about what would happen if I dropped it. I decided to get myself a lanyard then. I'll push the boat out and spend 15p on eBay - my phone is worth it .
Your Incredible did good there! I'm not going to be white knucking with my GS3 though. No matter how much I think I could do it, paranoia wins out in the end. With the strap I'll be bringing home the videos.
White knuckling is sheer bravery my man. I can never do such a thing, surely my phone would end up in the windshield of the parked cars below.
Pretty good video! I tried to shoot something on the Hulk (Universal Orlando) one time, only got the harness bar Attempted to record on the Doom Tower and got 30 seconds of my chest ... kind of gave up after that
Thanks guys, I've got annual passes to Bush Gardens so I'll try it again (with a lanyard) and see if I can get a better angle, maybe in portrait mode. Better yet... I'll wait till we get the SGSII on Verizon Wireless here in the States.
