    Hey guys,

Recently switched from the Eris to the Droid thanks to Verizon and needed a crash course on Droid Roms.

I am familiar with rooting for the Eris, but it seems Droid is a different beast. I have no issue rooting, I can figure that out from the posts.

I just need help consolidating what ROMs to look at and what I should be looking for.

    My priorities are:
    1) Battery Life
    2) Speed/Stability
    3) Similar "look" to Droid, but doesn't has to be absolute
    4) Ability to customize status bar, etc. I want to try my hand with Desktop Visualizer and create my own "theme" as it were for the phone.

That's really it. I realize having good speed and battery life may be a trade off, so focus more on battery life. The Droid is already way quicker than my Droid (even rooted), but who doesn't like a little extra speed?

    Thanks so much!

several new roms out in the last few days, and all are really good.... Liquid Frozen Yogurt 1.9, Ultimate Droid 2.0, Cyanogen 6.1, and Simply Stunning 4.9 (I think) are all very good and very customizable

UltimateDroid 1.0.0 is a good ROM with lots of customizations and a stock look... UD2 has too many bugs for my taste though.

At the top of this sub forum there is another section called ROM's.

Droid - ROMs - Android Forums

There are threads on all of them with people discussing the + and -.

It is kind of wierd but I am currently OC'ed to 1100 and have far better battery life than stock.

CM6.1 all the way! CyanogenMod is consistently my favorite ROM. It's rock-solid.
