Maybe this is what happens to me? When I try to wake up my phone with power, it shuts off. Had to flash back to 1.1

Look through the thread and you can see how to turn off reboot options by deleting the shutdown fileeeeeee in system bin or whateverrrr

this will work but i'd probably rename it just in case (so you can always un-rename it)

anyone else having issues with gmail and it not sending/deleting messages while using this?

edit: never mind, installing while wiping fixes it.

So my only issues are the automatic apps to sd which is fixable, the shutdown shortcuts which are also fixable; and the fact that the market will not auto restore your settings which is probably a mix of issues using apps2sd and skipping the initial setup.

lots of issues with these release. im putting froyo on hold until things are more stable. i installed ultimate droid froyo and thought it was going perfect. then i rebooted and the phone stuck on the droid red pulsing eye for 10 minutes. so, im definatly back to 2.1 non-froyo for now. its stable, clean and every darn things works flawlessly.

anyone know when pete will be releasing the next version of this ?

This thread reminds me of my customers. I sell these things for a living. They are called "smart" phones for a reason. If you haven't enough cognizence to figure out that you have a tendency to palm the shutter while keying tbe dimmer... maybe you shouldn't be rooting phones. And the widget issue has been discussed to death. Let Pete decide whether apps defaulting to SD is how HE wants to build HIS rom. Take responsibility for your user error users. Or build your own roms. That being said the battery does seem to go faster.

The power off/reboot/shut-down options are well-intended, but should not have been on by default...a cardinal rule in electronics device design is that you don't enable options to reboot/shut-down the device that aren't either 1) Clearly labeled/standard implementations that users are familiar with, or 2) Fail-safed by an "Are you sure" prompt. The hidden key options aren't a bad idea, and some love them, they just should not have been on by default.

Same w/the install all apps to SD setting...Auto would have been the best default, the more aggressive "all apps" setting should have been a selectable option for those who wish to deal w/the greater potential for difficulties with that setting.

The best software/hardware designers/developers I work with are always seeking out noobs, people with limited exposure/familiarity with their industry to test designs...the definition of great design is that you don't assume your users have to be smart to use your product. You assume the product is smart enough to enable almost anyone to use it.

my only issue is when i create a new folder (i.e. Root Folder) and drag a couple apps (ROM Manager, Astro, SetCPU, etc.) they're all gone whenever the phone gets restarted. any ideas?

Agreed. It's clearly apparent after watching this thread build that this ROM in particular just needs a few options turned off BY THE USER to get it working without major hiccups. Honestly, it's the fastest and best ROM I've used so far after doing the following.

    1) Turn off apps2SD
    2) Turn off power off/reboot/shut-down controls

Wifi not connecting after sleep has been an issue with my DROID since release day BEFORE root. Whether that's Google's code problem or the power widget is a debate all on its own and not ROM specific.

OK so I had some real issues the first time I tried this, then I went to NexFroyo and after a few days my phone just FC'd everything over and over again. I decided to go back to BB1.1 ESE81 as it had worked like a champ but missed some of the Froyo elements so took the plunge again.
I am now happy to say that I am stable and running well on BB V0.2.1, Chevy ULW 1.2GHZ Kernel and Sweeter Home 2 Beta, I also decided to stay with an older version of the BaseBand, 41R. Never have I gotten better scores with SetCPU or LinPack, now over 1490 and what's more important is that I have had no issues in a week now.
