BBCrackman has released the newest version of DarkSlide for the Droid X. It is based off of the official .596 build of GingerBlur. I know there isnt a large amount of people here that run DarkSlide but I would urge anyone who hasn't tried DarkSlide to give it a whirl. I have found DarkSlide to be fast, smooth, and very stable.

Grab it here: DarkSlide X is here!

Just flashed this from apex, and i must say.. very stable, no force closes new black keyboard with blue action keys. Man this rom is fast. Everything is running exactly how I would expect from such a popular rom/dev. Great work on this. Definitely a must try if your not ready to switch to cyanogen.

OP- Thank you for posting this. I am going to have to give it a try. Still sitting on the side lines for a bit longer w/ respect to CM4DX. This will help me hold out a bit longer!

I went from OTA 596 rooted, deodexed with BWC theme to DSX. This Darkslide is quite nice but lacks in a few areas that BWC (by bouchigo) has.

At this early point, i think the BWC is a much better looking theme and works 100% as DSX seems to. Giving DSX a couple of days, unless there are some updates i will be going back to BWC................excellent theme indeed :)

You are comparing a ROM to a THEME. BWC is not a ROM, Bouchigo only themes (from what I know) So i don't really think you are comparing this in the respect it should be. It should be compared to Apex, Cyanogen, etc.... Not BlueBlurryBread, BWC, Watermark'd, etc...

Hell, maybe i'm wrong and misunderstood myself. :)

    Hmmmmmm.............

No, i think you are 100% correct. It is the "look" i am a bit taken back from. Sorry for MY misinformation. I am still on DSX and do really like it. I wonder if i can flash BWC on top of it??? That would make me VERY happy indeed :):)

Battery life for me at least is great............been off charge for 12 hours and 11 minutes. Have 70% left. I would call my usage today as average...............many emails, a few calls and texts, quite a bit of web browsing.
GB has always given me great battery performance and DSX is no difference :)

BTW...........i have GPS enabled 24/7. Use WiFi at home.

I am loving this ROM. I switched over from CM4DX since there were just too many bugs. This ROM is great, however there would be some visual things I would change. I don't really like the lockscreen but thats just me.

Just flashed the deodexed file then flashed the BWC file and everything seems to work awesome. Even the market remains black. All the blur apps are color reversed.........GREAT job by bouchigo

So lenny or anyone else on DarkSlide X. How has this been running. Still happy with it? Battery life still good? Just curious as I have my eye on switching over from CM7 to this.

im kinda almost 88% positive that Darkslide X is going to have close to apex style battery life, only because cm7 and ssx are built on the 2 init, so it must be that which drains your battery, you can either be thankful cm7 came to the X and you lose a little more battery life, or you can just switch to semi blurred roms

That might be one of the reasons why I was never really motivated to try it. that and there were other things I was trying at the time :D

A lot of people (most people that use it anyway) seem to rave about, that's the only reason I was interested.
