Root ROM Flashing (Shabbymod)

Hey all, I'm kinda new here but I've created an account to ask about ROM flashing. I've taught myself how to root the phone by reading through the forums so i have a bit of knowledge about rooting and etc.

Well anyway, I wanted to get a custom ROM on my Prevail but I'm not too sure about the whole idea. I understand shabbymod is the ROM for the prevail if I'm not mistaken but it's still vague to me and i dont understand it. I basically wanted to ask for a step by step guide on how to get a custom ROM so i won't do something reckless and brick my phone -___-

thats all you need to know man.

if you want to push the easy button go to the market and download the acs updater and install the rom from there. the free app is ok, but pony up the $1 for the easy button, it gets more updates too
