Liquid Gingerbread v1.85 Rom Release - Droid Forum - Verizon Droid & the Motorola Droid Forum
Installed and restoring apps!
Flashed, running it now. Will give you my opinion after a while.
Is multitasking working? If you have Navigation and a music player going same time, will it kill the background app? I'm very hesitant to use a GB rom again till I know that these issues are fixed. GB's are just not real dependable. Heck even the Froyo I was using has lost some of the dependability I enjoyed with em. Think this D1 is just about in the ditch as far as usefulness and lifespan. Seem you almost need to set the thing to barebones to get it stable enough to use.
I love a lot of the GB ROMs, but I agree about day-to-day usability. My phone isn't 100% reliable which isn't good. I may go all the way back to Froyo until I get a new phone or a rock solid GB ROM is released.
First and foremost, the kernel included in this release is NOT fast enough IMO. Also, in the release notes it says that minimum frequency is 250, yet I can still set it to 125 in Liquid settings. Not sure why that is??
I have a feeling this will be a very nice ROM as soon as I flash back up to a 1000 or 1100 kernel.
you bet it will! drop a 1000+ kernel (i like RZ's dfabbeb version, 250-1100) and watch out, it flies. add zeppelinrox's supercharger for oom grouping mods (search XDA) on one of the balanced or multitasking settings and you have Gingerbread nirvana on the D1!
Tried that kernel, unfortunately it wouldn't take on my Droid. Have not heard of this supercharger, though. I'll have to look into that.
So I flashed RZ's 1100 kernel and WOW what a difference! My phone is actually useable again. The 800 kernel that came stock just doesn't work well on my Droid, but this one flies! Can you give more info on this supercharger you're talking about?
Oh, and music is still skipping.
hey guys I cant download MMS. idk if its Verizon or since i flashed the new rom. please help with any suggestions you have.
Is the multitasking issue in the 2.3 android delivery or in some of the custom GB ROMs? It is very annoying if while listening to music one looks at an incoming email or text and he music stops.
