I am trying to install clockworkmod recovery on my phone using rom manager. I press clockworkmod recovery when in rom manager. It asks me for my phone model. Then it just says succesfully downloaded and doesnt reboot or actually flash the custom recovery at all.

I feel like im just being really stupid. Has anyone ran into this problem? Does anyone know what I should do?

It downloads onto your sd card for when you boot into recovery. Once in recovery, choose install update.zip

Thank you Jymczyz I should have figured that out.

Ironass, I was trying to install Clockworkmod Recovery not CyanogenMod.
