I was having the same issue. I just opened the weather and kept refreshing it and it picked up my location. Now it is staying current. Im not sure if this is a pertinent fix or not it just a heads up.

Thanks for the info. I will give this a shot on my next day off. I know it really had me puzzled. Everything worked great except for that and my now longstanding problem of not being able to silence my phone ringing with the power button which has happened since I flashed my first ROM. I thought maybe after a period of time it would pick up but after 2-3 hours with no change I just flashed back to my previous ROM.

I installed hboot .92 and still got the error when I installed the file. Ended up installing the kernel separately and that worked.

i installed the .92 after getting the "error at line 92" and it STILL won't install. it aborts the installation almost immediately after the error therefore i can't install the rom. any help from here?

edit: ok so even though it said installation aborted, i rebooted it and it seems to have installed..is there a way to verify it's actually fourthwave?

edit 2: SAFOGTHASFONASFNUGASN i did a titanium backup of my apps, ive done it before and had no problem before, but NOW NOTHING WILL REINSTALL. i couldn't be anymore pissed right now. when i go into the titanium backup folder on my sd card and manually click the com files, it says there's no app for opening this file, and ive had that stupid backup assistant force close ~10 times in the past 2 minutes. so far this is a terrible rom, i hope there's some sort of fix for this

Wow, you can select compression now?
Is that option specific to 4th Wave or is it also available in other Froyo ROMs?

Dumb question, can I simply install this like your other roms, or will I need to revert radio or anything else first?

I'm currently running third wave, with

    hydra undervolt kernel .5
    h boot 0.77
    radio 2.15.00.7.28

    Skorpios1027 Frell me dead

That has been available on all the "leak" based ROMs I know of.

So I am guessing that this has all the modifications from the other "Wave" ROMs like increased VM heap?

My perceived installation steps: (Please correct me if i'm wrong)

    1) insure root, s_off, and 2.15 radio
    2) nandroid, and titanium backup
    3) update to hboot .92
    4) rename fourth.zip to update.zip (on root of SD Card)
    5) wipe cache and data
    6) goto hboot, install from update.zip
    7) let it reboot when complete.
    8) if no boot, restore nandroid for hboot .77

    Correct or No?
    Suggestions always welcome!

The ROM should be installed from recovery, not hboot & it doesn't need to be renamed.

    Note changes below:

    1) insure root, s_off, and 2.15 radio
    2) nandroid, and titanium backup
    3) update to hboot .92
    4) copy fourth.zip (on root of SD Card)
    5) wipe cache and data
    6) goto recovery, install from zip file, fourth.zip
    7) let it reboot when complete.
    8) if no boot, restore nandroid for hboot .77

Any more comments especially on staying at hboot .92 or going back to hboot .77?

How do you just upgrade HBOOT to .92?

  19. DizkoDan

Just download the image and install it via hboot.

    HBOOT .92 Just another blog

OK, I ran it and it looks like the update was successful because my HBOOT version updated, but it keeps booting to HBOOT, it won't boot to the phone.

place the HBOOT PB31IMG.zip on the ROOT of your SD-Card and follow the same steps that you did to get S-off

    Good Luck

Crap, please help.. I just read the part about doing a Nandroid backup and didn't do 1 because I didn't see it until now.. I've done them in the past but it's saved on my computer at home and I"m at work.. Please advise how to resolve this, I can't boot past HBOOT.

I only have a 2 gig sd card which is why it's saved on my computer.. since they were bigger files I just kept them there.

Worst case scenario, would it work if I just wait until I get home from work, download Fourth Wave to my computer, mount sdcard and plug phone in, copy Fourth Wave to root of SD, and then install file from zip? Would that let me get the update and back to the phone again?

Sorry, I keep opening this to reply, and get sidetracked. Yes, you should be able to install any ROM or restore a nandroid at this point.
