Hi. Thanks for making this rom for my device. I remember you doing great work on the zte awe that I got on a black Friday years ago. Anyways I tried this rom and xenon HD but my sim card is not recognized. I have the sprint model of this phone and I am trying to use a GSM sim card. Jasonm latest build for lineage 14.1 dated November 30th works great. I was wondering if you could cook up a version of this rom based off of Jasonm device tree's for the rom I mentioned. I would appreciate it a lot as I am getting tired of lineage 14.1 already and I remember loving the remix roms I have installed on other devices before. I did run your rom for about 3 days and had no problems besides the sim card issue that I can recall. I just put my sim in another phone when I needed to. Thanks again for the work you do for us.

I was under the impression that I had been using @JasonM45 's trees for that device, I'll check again and see what I can do.. thanks for the feedback & heads up

The trees I used for that build aren't on github. It was an experimental build trying to get everyone trying to use a CDMA XT1766 with a gsm sim, which is just not how these phones are supposed to work. Your lucky it worked for you and it's not going to be supported because there's too many people trying to use too many carriers in too many regions.

Oh, okay. I didn't know there were that many changes as I know that when I looked into unlocking my phone the guides just said to install squid2's lineage 14.1 build. It works for everyone from what I can tell. I don't know what changed so much in your device trees that is causing the problem. I am not a programmer so I would probably be lost if it was explained to me lol. I do thank you a lot for all your work. I am fine with your lineage 14.1 gsm fixed build. Only problems I have had are with the latest YouTube Vanced showing a empty black screen while playing certain videos and reboots when selecting a video in YouTube Vanced sometimes. I don't think the problems are related to your build. I did a dirty flash and didn't have any problems with the earlier version of YouTube Vanced on both of your guys roms. It's a major deal breaker for me when I can't send texts or make calls on a rom but your build works great and I can still mod a lot of things with magisk and xposed so I am happy. Thanks again.

Squid's builds supposedly don't work anymore for those who took the latest stock updates. Enjoy the build cuz I'm done. There won't be anymore.

I'm not certain as I don't own that device, but it seems feasible as long as it isn't a VZW device

Is the carrier unlocked version of perry so i guess i'll give it a shot when i have the chance, will give you more info on that then (should be sometime tonight)

Rom runs good, just like the 2017 build i was using as my main for half a year, i wanted to test this rom out to see if the usb tethering was fixed yet but still a no-go on that

I'm sure I used @JasonM45 's trees for you guy's RR-perry ROM.. I erased that repo yesterday so I can't exactly check. Glad all else is well, thanks for the info

I can test out for you if you wanna try to fix it, pretty sure I'm not the only one that heavily needs USB Tethering (getting tired of havening to use pdanet that isn't very reliable)

I erased the repo, no rebuilds happening with RR any time soon. Besides, this Perry build was a blind build and I don't own the device... So just call it an experiment that I'm not going to continue, sorry

Need OEM Unlock and bootloader unlocked. Network may or may not allow it. Follow the Motorola bootloader unlocking method and it'll tell you if your device is eligible. But in theory, should work great

Does this ROM work with GSM carriers? My friend has my Sprint E4 (unlocked for GSM usage) and sometimes these later ROMs don't work with GSM for some reason, like it won't even detect the SIM card at all. Which is a shame because everything else works perfectly, including stuff that usually didn't like headphone audio

Anyone know if someone has picked up the work on this rom or any rom for the xt1766? I know OP is done with this build, but US govt is giving these out to low cost families and I know a many who would like either a better rom or maybe at the least oreo. All these phones r on sprint with sim card.

You're getting these from the government now huh? I like that actually, better than the piece of junk ANS UL40s I heard about before. It's definitely a step up in every regard.

Not sure about ETAs but my buddy is working on porting Oreo to these. Right now it's unable to boot due to camera issues he's trying to figure out, but SUPPOSEDLY, other than the camera problems everything else is working fine (he can't boot it to test it yet obviously but he said in theory everything else should be good). Not sure when it'll be done but at some point in the future we will have Oreo ROMs for this phone to build stuff off of. At that point I'll probably make a couple for you guys to choose from.

As of now though, for you and anyone else you know that has the E4 as a government phone, unlock your bootloaders ASAP. Sprint usually lets you do this, but I'm not sure if they'll block it in the future because of .gov's sponsorship of the program. Before it potentially gets locked, all you guys out there need to get UNlocked.
