Root Root 2.2

Ok, i have searched and im sorry, i cant find a definite answer..Im a bit confused.
Can we root 2.2 yet?

I just got a macbook air and now that i am running 2.2 (updated a week ago wouldnt ya know) i realize that i wish i would have decided to root.

But now i really would like free wireless tethering, because i really wont use it much and dont wanna spend 30 bones a month for that.

So, can someone show me some answers..please?
