ok well the moto e is a really old phone.....so i'm guessing this is the e7 according to your model number.....and unfortunately there is not much over at https://www.xda-developers.com/. this is the forum where developers who posts their root exploits for specific devices as well as posting their custom roms and custom recoveries. and there is no current forum for your device there that i could find. no forum means no developers....and no developers means no fun.

check back there periodically to see if they open up a forum for your device.

Yes. Yes there is.. Lol. Plz take in consideration that if you have Windows, you'll have to install drivers and stuff, like minimal fastboot + ADB, Motorola drivers 1st before you'll even be able to unlock the bootloader.
    1. Unlock your bootloader, first and foremost. You can't do anything beyond that if you can't unlock it. This will also completely reset your phone tho, but no biggie. Verizon Wireless WILL NOT allow ANY bootloader unlocking, no matter what they promise. They even Lock their Pixel devices!
    2. DL (download) the correct stock FW (firmware) for your device & Carrier. Unpack the zip and remove the boot.img, transfer to your phone storage for use in next steps..
    3. DL Magisk_Manager.apk here
    4. Open app and where you see Magisk not installed, select INSTALL (then you'll see a release notes popup, hit INSTALL again) choose Select File & Patch.. navigate to the boot.img ya pulled from the FW and let Magisk do its thing.
    5. Now move the patched boot.img to the PC and boot into fastboot/bootloader mode by holding Volume down before it reboots.
    6. Flash the newly patched boot.img (rename to boot.img if needed) to the phone via: flash boot_a boot.img
    7. If that doesn't work, try: fastboot flash boot_b boot.img
    8. Boot device and enjoy Root privileges ..

No one posted it cuz ppl were trying to focus on a few other devices, like the G8's and G Stylus. The G7's introduced a slew of new changes that're being realized by the Dev community. Honestly, I gave a generic (but detailed) method for Rooting these new Motorola devices as they all seem A/B style & use the exact same process for Rooting without custom recoveries. Heck.. almost don't even need TWRP anymore except convenience, Lol. Can apparently totally flash custom ROMs and stuff with just fastbootd, nowadays

Does this actually work? I have the Moto E 2020 (XT2052-1) and would love to root it, but there's almost nothing about this device and how to root it or flash a custom recovery. Would gladly aprecciate it if someone already did it and tell us the experience

This device barely got released 4 months ago. I saw some people working on TWRP, but none have released them yet. Normally on budget devices, we see Custom ROMs and Recoveries after 6 months to make sure that everything works fine. Rooting Moto E series phones is easy. As far as the Moto E 2020, all XT2052-1 models should be rootable. I will release a guide soon on how to do it. I asked the Admins to make a section for this device and they created one. You will see the Rooting tutorial here when I will post it: https://androidforums.com/devices/motorola-moto-e-2020.18499/

  12. I bought the E6 Plus l(XT 2025 - 2) last week.
It seems to be the single sim version of the 2052!
I've no desire to go to this or any length for Android 10.

It's an absolutely excellent piece of full, modern Android hardware. Great to hold and use (even though it's the 2Gb/32 version) and I prefer it to my 4/64 Nokia 7 Plus on Android 10 I that just got back from warrantied repair (bought mid 2019).

For £80 any annoyances over minor niggles with the E6 Plus, there's hardly any, and missing spec only last a few seconds.
Grab one in the UK while you can (Argos / Sainsbury's)

.... and now back to our normal broadcasting... :)

By the way, all the Moto E 2020s have 2 Sim Card slots, the North American ones have Dual SIM as well, but there is space for one SIM in the SIM tray. However, for SIM 2, IMEI is 0, and you might not be able to connect to all networks, as some prohibits IMEI 0 Phones. There is also the Dual Sim app, hidden, which shows dual SIM capabilities of the phone. Also, a picture of the motherboard found in a teardown video of a US Youtube channel confirms the North American Moto E 2020 phones are dual sim. (www youtube com/watch?v=Vn-hSHofawY)
