Device: Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (Build: IMM76D.N8000ZCALH1)

It seems that rooting the Note 10.1 requires Odin, but most 'guides' do not list a firmware for my build.

Can we root a Galaxy Note 10.1 another way, not using ODIN?

    I have read this thread:
http://androidforums.com/note-10-1-all-things-root/637565-guide-step-step-rooting.html, and done some search with Google on this and other forums, and also the sticky note in the forums. Unfortunately, I did not find the answer.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

Further info: model bought in China (am in CN now). Does not have Google Play Store by default. Rooted the device with ExynosAbuse exploit (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2050297), which fixes an Android exploit, and at the same time roots the device. I made the mistake of both unrooting the device and patching the fix at boot: that meant that the device cannot be rooted anymore with this tool and the patch cannot be turned off anymore because one needs to be root in order to do that. To make matters worse, the device is reset to Factory Default. Assumed Factory Reset this would disable the patch (i.e. re-enable the exploit), but this was not the case [why actually, after a factory reset, the config should be 'as new' right?]. So the device is Factory Reset, with exploit patched.

This is the slightly desolate Galaxy Tab 10.1 forum.

You might be better off posting in the Galaxy Note forum.

ETA; oops, just realised this was posted 3 months ago. It is windswept in here :D
