Root root kindle fire not hd

New here and not much a whizz computer wise. This has probably been covered many times before, but I can't find it anywhere.
I am wanting to root my kindle fire non HD. But I don't have a computer. I'm sure it can be done without computer but I can't find how to do it. I've found some guides but comments I've read say they don't work so have gave them a miss.
Any help much appreciated and gratefully received.
