Root root mytouch

Hi everyone, im new to android forums. im trying to get everyones opinion on the easiest way to root my mytouch 3g slide. ive seen many different ways of doing it online but im looking for pple that have actuallly done it. i just wanna root it so i have the privelages to change some things on the phone. i dont have any issues with android 2.1 so i want to keep that. thanks in advance

Ive rooted my MyTouch 4g (NOT slide) w/ VISIONary r14. Mabye looking sumwhere around there might give u an answer
