Nope. Factory Reset only wipes /data and /cache. Root is in /system

what app? you just go into the first post and run the script from the download, then go into the playstore to either install or update your Superuser

are you sure you are on the 2.3.4 android version. this root method only works for that one. if you are on the 2.3.6 the thread you want is among the stickied threads.

if you are on the 2.3.4 then errors on the command prompt that appear is normal. just boot up the phone are running the script and then go download Superuser from the playstore.

anyone who has rooted this phone ever should head on over to this thread i made thanking bliss/dan rosenberg. sure there is no exploit used for 2.3.6, but without his initial root you guys wouldnt have had a cwm to root 2.3.6

In a different thread cogra said he'd reupload the OA rom along with some others. As for 5.0.2.8 eh I'm too lazy to look for it. There should be one floating around here somewhere.

nothing after that. WHat do I do? I know i've done everything else right. This is bull. I really want my phone rooted. I am in fact running 2.3.4... I miss ice cream sandwich...

I know that nothing is wrong. I can see it show up on my computer when I turn on the data transfer. I have tried to root with it both on and off.

I don't know why it says that. But my cord is brand new, my port is fine. I tried all of them to be sure. Debug is enabled drivers are installed. Nothing is wrong with my phone.
