Root root or wait for 2.3??? also anyone in Buxton, Derbys???

    Hi, should i root or wait for the OTA 2.3 update? not sure, i could defo use the app2sd feature of root. but id like to know if anyone here has any info relating to the official 2.3/2.4 release for desire.
    Also does anyone here live in or near Buxton, Derbyshire you could show me the difference a rooted phone makes.

    Go ahead and root. If and when the 2.3 update comes out you can always try that. Also, if you really want Gingerbread now, you can install a custom ROM ;)

    The OTA 2.3 update isn't going to happen any time soon for the Desire, so I'd definitely recommend rooting your phone and getting a custom ROM.

    Also, please be aware that once rooted etc, you really shouldn't download any OTA updates for your phone as it can cause problems. Go to settings/about phone/system software updates and untick(turn off) the scheduled check.
