so im getting my droidx in a few days. this will be my first android ever and had never heard of rooting until researching this phone. for right now all i am interested in doing is getting wifi tethering and run a few apps that need root. what would be the best root procedure to use for this purpose? (easy root?)

I used the app UniversalRoot, it is literally a one click root once installed.

Doesn't get much easier than that.
