Have anybody found a root yet for this phone.
Nobody have this phone
I have seen someone working building a Recovery for our phone and found a root haven't given it try yet .. have you made any discoveries for this phone yet .?
btw to eliminate other phones with similar names put t559 so you see exactly what you have. also there are many phones with very similar specs to this
Nope I haven't been able to find anything that I could even try. Look on YouTube and found something but it won't let me download the file or zip whatever it is because of some not in your country bs
What root you found because I seen something on xda but didn't quite understand it
the op said they've rooted the device , but i haven't had time to read it . here you go : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2407389
read through and found root haven't tested yet . but the other users say ok . let me kno how it goes when you root
cwm apparently work .. yeah . 1st link i posted 6th page
Ok going to check it out later tonight
did you check
Not yet computer went crazy but I'm about to be getting another one this week
Any updates on a root for this phone?
yes , there is root ,cwm touch, Pac rom , cm10.1, and a stock Odin firmware .Even though non of the ROMs are Stable. They are still pretty neat . CM10.1 is the best because it has had the most work done on it. But here are the links:
[ROM] [4.3.1] [OFFICIAL] [Nightlies][Codinaxx Galaxy Exhibit T599X Variants]PAC-Man - xda-developers
[Recovery][CWM] SGH-T599- Working - xda-developers
[ROM][4.2.2.][UNOFFICIAL] CyanogenMod 10.1 for Galaxy Exhibits - xda-developers
[INDEX][SGH-T599x][FIRMWARE] - xda-developers
but pretty much anything uploaded in the general section for the s3 mini and say"t599x,t599" or "Exhibits, Codinamtr, codinatmo" is addressed to us !
Also you could try Xposed Installer and its Modules for tweaks !
Are you sure you're talking about the same device we're talking about? I don't want to try the root without someone trying it previously
Yes SGH-T599N Metro PCS came out this year 2013
If that isn't your phone than your in the wrong forum.
Hey everyone I'm going to help. I was able to successfully root my phone Samsung Galaxy Exhibit SGH-T599N. I just gotta do a preliminary post before the site removes restrictions on my posts.
Hey everyone. I also just bought a Samsung Galaxy Exhibit SGH-T599N phone at Metro pcs, and I was successful in rooting it and uninstalling some bloatware.
I watched this guys video on the rooting process using Cydia Impactor. Here's a link to that software: http: //bit.ly/1cXc8Hh
I purposely put spaces in the URL because I'm a new poster so I can't explicitly post links.
After installing and using the first option " #drop supersu..." you'll see on your phone "package installing" and then you install any SuperSU app from the play store, I used ChainFire's app. Let that app install the necessary binary files. Then you can download Titanium Backup to double check that you're rooted. Make sure you use your OEM USB cable, my computer wasn't detecting my phone until I used the cable that came with my phone.
That should be all!
I used different File Manager apps to get rid of the unwanted Metro apps, but only Titanium Backup worked. So just click the app and select the red-lettered "Un-Install" option. Then you'll be done!
Hope that helps, and sorry for the long reply.
best way to remove bloatware for me...
Edit: Yes, the Impactor DOES work with the Tmobile SGH-T599 Galaxy Exhibit phone! (and I guess the MetroPCS version as well). Just make sure you have installed Samsung's drivers onto your PC first. Otherwise (at least in my case) Impactor didn't "see" the phone and wouldn't do anything. But as soon as I went to Samsung's website and downloaded the drivers, and put them on my win7 laptop... THEN when I connected my phone and ran the program, it suddenly worked.
For those wondering (as it's confusing) to actually run the program, just hit START or ENTER or whatever it was (there's a long command line, and then a START box. If everything is connected okay and you want to do it, just press that START box). It'll go through a little routine ("testing" "installing package", etc). and in less than a minute it will be done. It won't say finished, but it'll go back to its opening command. Again, make sure you have the drivers installed on your pc, and make sure you've gone into settings/development options... turn that ON... then make sure "USB Debugging" is clicked. Then (if you have the drivers installed in your pc) the the impactor works.
It does not install a superuser util though it seems.. so you have to get that from the google play store. But you can also download plenty of free "root checker" aps to verify that it's rooted. Enjoy
I also have this phone (SGH-T599N) and cannot get Clockwork Mod installed. I follow the instructions in the XDA thread, but it does not work. Odin just says that it failed. I put it into download mode and tried loading the .tar, but again, didn't work. The link to the drivers has no link to the drivers, so I downloaded them from Samsung (could that be why). Any ideas?
I quoted a post I made here. Any chance you could help or refer me to somewhere?
Reinstall the drivers with the phone disconnected to the computer. After its installed plug the phone in when it's in download mode. (Don't run anything yet!) Your pc should say installing new software or drivers, wait till it says it's done. Then open Odin an now you should see that it's reading the phone in download mode. If the file still says failed then you might be losing the file the wrong way, it's suppose to load through pda (if I'm wrong sorry in advance. It's 3 am here and I should be sleeping)
I eventually got it to work, but dumb ass me, not reading enough, I used EZ-Unlocker on my Samsung Galaxy Exhibit (t599n) and bricked it. ANYWAY, thank you for helping .
Hey guys I've successfully rooted and modded my SGH-T599N directly from my phone. Currently running Beanstalk 4.4.2.
