I just installed ClockworkMod and flashed CyanogenMod 7 on my new Viewsonic gtab (from stock Tap UI 3588). All worked well except for a couple issues.
I forgot to side load gapps so couldn't install from sdcard, no big deal.

After booting with new CM7 my PC will not recognize the gtablet when connected by USB cable. I don't get the message to turn on/off USB debugging.

Other issue is the browser that came with CM7, it appears to be a mobile browser, doesn't display pages in full screen like the stock one that came with the gtab. Is there a better browser I can download?

p.s. many thanks to all the various posts regarding rooting/flashing, the process was not as scary as I thought it would be, even for a newbie!

I don't have CyanogenMod 7, but... on the browser, you should be able to go into settings for the browser and from there you should be able to change the settings from Mobile to Desktop. Also some websites like Engadget usually has a link on the bottom of the page that lets you choose Desktop version of the website.

Or you can just download Dolphin Browser. :)
