I've used this guide for rooting and rooted him smooth :)

    BUT,when I do this step:

    5. Run "Terminal Emulator". Type (press and hold menu to get the keyboard up) in the following:
su (press enter and wait for the "Super User Request Prompt". Choose "Allow" and make sure its ticked to Allow every time.)
    flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img

it replies: flash_image: not found.... (and i did typing OK,I tried with renamed and un-renamed file)....

OK,then I tried with Flash rec from this tutorial BUT.... Flash custom recovery is missing. There is only: download recovery image button, but blanked.

I just don't get it,img file is in /sd/recovery.img or longer version: /sd/recovery-RA-hero-v1.5.2

    problem similar to this one

    Thnx,Regards

/sdcard and /sd are not the same. /sd is an EXT (apps2sd) partition, whereas /sdcard is the external memory card. Double-check you've placed the recovery.img file in the latter.

You're on 2.1? And you've already rooted with universal androot?

Download ROM manager from the market, hit the top option 'flash recovery image' (or something to that effect) and you'll have a working recovery menu :). You can then go on to the very bottom option in ROM manager to tell it to flash Amon Ra. (A good idea IMO).

You might need to install 'busybox' from the market first (or via titanium backup, an app anybody using custom firmware needs), but ROM manger does it in like 20 seconds :)

First;I can't remember but i think it went just like this: I got my G2 Touch with 1.5 on it. I did a goldcard and updated him with official 2.1 from HTC(cuz our T-Mobile,regarding updates, is just as quick as an dying turtle). I postponed the rooting till few days ago and rooted him with UniversalAndroot.... so the answers would be: yes and yes :)

    I'll try your solution later,thnx m8 :)

Yeah it won't make a difference that it's the unbranded 2.1 on a branded hero :)
