everything is running great, i get excellent battery life, i don't want to rock the boat, but i don't want to get left behind either when new roms and themes come out for 596.

should i sbf and install the 2-part or will there likely be another option to get the right radio and 596 from where i am?

    advice? thanks.

There is no telling what the future holds. There may be a way to get the upgraded radio but there also may not. If you want it now then yeah back up all your apps with titanium backup. Make sure all contacts are backed up. Maybe even make a backup of your phone through clockwork. SBF and factory reset back to stock .340. Do the 2 part updater. Restore apps. Though a word of caution. Sometimes restoring all apps and data may have detrimental effects on the system for whatever reason. I would suggest only restoring data for the apps you absolutely need. And even before that let the .596 run to make sure that its running correctly. That way if after data/app restore your phone starts to suck then you know the problem was in restoring.

I think the issue he was mentioning was the fact he was still n the .07 radio, IDK for sure if the radio file will be a hanging point on te reboot for such a small increment update. May not even be included in the update, as the package might assume the radio is already at .12.
can anyone confirm or deny this?

I could be wrong here but isn't the only way to get the updated radio (12p) by flashing the .588?

EDIT: Nevermind. I now see what he did with the .596 files.....;)

In big red bold letters on P3's OP with all the files. Getting the newest baseband is optimal.

thats what I thought, but he's well past that being on .595, must have missed a step. I would suggest SBF, but I always say that...

thats strange though, i was on .595 and i just flashed .596, how could he have missed the updated radio??

its included in .595 right? or am i missing something completely here

From what I have read, the updated radio came in .588. .595 to my knowledge didn't come with the new radio cause it was assumed you already got it by flashing the .588. And to me at least, the .595 was really just a bug fixer kinda update.

But according to the directions for flashing without having the new radio, i'm just gonna assume it was placed in the two file method.

the two file method only works coming from FroYo, so it would have to include the upgraded radio file. I think he just missed a step, I seem to remember a thread that had a comment about having to go through .588 or you would miss the updated radio.

I seen that info too. That's why I assumed you had to get the .588 first in order to get the updated radio.

I think it was Steven that was telling people that (pretty much over and over, since they don't listen...)
IDK, it seems it was .588 that updated it
