Root Rooted Lite Custom Rom for Ally

im very familiar with droid rooting and roms, got the wife the ally and would love to give her root access to it, is the update.zip file listed up top is that to gain the root access? or is that for the rom itself?

really dont like going through terminals to get the root access. wonder if easy root would work with the ally, dont believe it will and dont want to mess up her phone haha.

it is a zip file, dont touch of modify anything, if ur gonna flash it just move the file to sc card and flash it

Your download is posting a rar file. Linux doesn't know what to do with this.

OK i broke it.....
It doesnt boot past the Verizon logo. Im sure I did some thing wrong, it cant find a restore file. not sure where to go from this point.

You forgot to wipe either cache, dalvik or data - boot into recovery by pressing power, menu and end all at once from a powered off state (phone off)

Sounds like Afteraffekt is exactly correct. Follow the steps he posted, Then wipe the cache and data with recovery. Then you should be able to install the .zip from sd with recovery again. All should go as planned if you follow these simple steps.

might be a dumb question but its not my phone. Can I flash this to a LG Apex? My buddy has one and he needs some updated software. I rooted for him but I cant find any roms for it. Im not a noob so no matter what it takes I need to get something going for him.

No Ally roms only work on ally

Roms only work for their intended phone, and if the apex had a recovery it would have its own roms, and wouldnt need this.
