I'm newly rooted and all seems to work fine. Can I use the embedded sprint HotSpot widget or is there another out there available? I can associate to the Sprint HotSpot and pull an IP address, but cannot surf.

    Thanks in advance.

Have you tried using android-wifi-tether? Download the apk here. It works on my Samsung Captivate.

I had 2.0.1, which didn't work. I installed 2.0.5 and it works! Thanks for the suggestion, Luke!

The best channel for wifi is the one witht he least interference in your area. Download and run wifi analyzer and run it to see what's clear. If there are no networks in your area run any channel you want.

what are the fastest speeds you guys are getting using wifi tether? a speed test on my phone while on 4G showed 3.5 down and 1 up. I tethered and the best i could get was 1 down and .6 up on my computer. is there a way to get the same 4G up and down speeds on the computer?
