I rooted my commando once. I restored everything and unrooted and restored to factory to make sure I had everything factory backed up and stored on a spare sd card. When I tired to root, I get an error:
    Rooting device... - Step #4
startIndex cannot be larger than length of string.
    Parameter name: startIndex
    FAILED
Anyone have any ideas? Disregard - got it to work

How did you get it to work. I'm running into the same problem.:D

Just keep trying it and it will work.

When I got this error, I had to pull the microsd card out. Not just unmount it.
