I just rooted my wifes phone, all went through fine..Have s-off, amonra recovery. But once phone is booted, I cant access any "root" apps as it says no root access found...I have SU installed.

    Any ideas?

launch and check your su app. sometimes it will deny root apps access. you can click on the app and manually allow access. also if there is no apps being shown then first try and wipe dalvik cache and cache. if that still does not work then try and uninstall su and reinstall it.

I think it might be Super User permissions.

Go to your app drawer and select the Super User app. Make sure your root only apps that are listed there have been given permission for root access. If not click on the app and allow root permission and you should be good to go.

Let us know if that works. :)

Edit: Ocn ninja'd me yet again!!!

OK, very strange. Wiping cache's didnt work. Tried to uninstall superuser, could only uninstall updates, couldn't uninstall app itself as its in like an un-deleteable system app, and without titanium I can't uninstall it.

just to be sure you do have s-off correct? also you can try and flash a rom. i would recommend that you flash mikg3.0 to start out with. it is waaaaay better then stock.

Yeah I definitely have s-off. I'll probably try flashing her a new rom tomorrow, she got sick of waiting around and took her phone with her into the other room.

    Thanks for the help though!

well when you get the phone back or in the meantime if you have any questions please feel free to ask away.

also read the http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all...ooting-dummies-guide-gingerbread-edition.html while you wait. it has great info there.

and check out this rom that one of our AF members did:

she might like this theme. it will only work if you flash mikg3.0 though.
