Rooting a Huawei C8813Q

I just got a Huawei C8813Q for free for signing up for broadband internet access. All of the apps arel in Chinese - even though Android can be switched to English. I would like to root it and install an English rom. Does anyone know if this model was/is sold in a western country under another mfg or model name? It is a CDMA phone, if that makes any difference.
