I have Froyo now and waiting for Gingerbread to come to Bahrain. I am not rooted. Well i read that Gingerbread solves the lagging and that you won't have to root to do that anymore.
The thing is, the stupid market doesnt have somethings here like: Skype, Google Earth, and other cool stuff. And i found out you can use Market-Enabler to get those although u have to be rooted.

So should i be rooting or should i just wait for Gingerbread... and is there any way i can get those apps without rooting? Is rooting on gingerbread already safe in the first place or still?
Srry for the long thread :p

I have 2.3.3 (Darky 10.1 RE) and I rooted it through flashing the Dark Core 2.6 kernel.

    No issues whatsoever.
