Trying to help my Sister flash by giving directions through email etc.

She has Android 1.5, She can do the androot method (I think), but then ROM Manager needs at least 1.6 - so that is not an option. What is the easiest way to flash a recovery on 1.5?

Should she just do the Sprint Upgrade to 2.1, and then root from there?

I'm hoping she will like AOSP GB, and not demand Sense.

Thanks. It should not matter what version of HBOOT the phone has right?

Does the update from Sprint (windows based) update the radio or something else, that I would be missing out on?

If you do the update from htc/sprint, the radios, firmware version will all be updated . Make sure download htc sync before doing the update.

Answered by Andy :) I'm not 100% sure about the Hboot Number, but I'm going to take an educated guess and say that no, it doesn't matter. If you have doubts, flash via the RUU with HTC Sync installed. Takes a few minutes and you'll be good to go.
