Root Rooting Problems

Alright so I had previously rooted my Bionic and then yesterday I recived an update. I scowered the internet to see if I should unroot my phone before updating. Everywhere I went said no I would just have to re-root. Well they lied. I updated and now my phone will not root. I have tried two different rooting tools and they both fail at step three. Any suggestions? Thanks.

You might try this-
Bionic Maintain Root through any OTA update with Forever Root on any MOtorola Device on youtube it's what I did don't have to unroot and then root again.Hope this helps it might be on the "all things root thread".

There is a sub-forum in this forum devoted to the fairly massive interest in operating a Bionic in a root-ed environment. It is at ... Bionic - All Things Root - Android Forums ... and it is not a thread it is a fairly large collection of threads.

A phone out of the box is un-rooted and as such is restricted in how an App running on it can access the device and/or other apps running on the device.

Root-ing is running an un-supported modification (A.K.A. hack) on your phone Once and obtaining a circumvention to the restrictions.

An application called SuperUser (or SuperUser Elite) can be installed and then authorize privilege to apps so they can perform functions that an un-authorized app cannot.

In Android Market you will find some apps with a description that they require Root.

Look at ... Bionic - All Things Root - Android Forums ... for more information on the pros and cons of root-ing.

I strongly recommend that you do some research before root-ing.

I had the same problem and fixed it by using the method in the trackback area. apparently I can't put the URL in the first post so I will see what I can do next.
