I decided to look at what services I had running on my phone, out of curiosity. When i looked, I realized that I didn't know what a lot of them were for.
    • MobileIM
    • com.smithmicro.DM
    • HTC DM
    • Sound set
Could someone explain what these do, and how I could stop them if necessary (besides closing it from the running services window)?

Also, I noticed two "Calendar" services running. Why would this be?

Mobile Im is just that, the factory application on the phone to use and set up for your instant messaging services.
Smithmicro I believe has to do with the software update for the phone, someone correct me if I'm wrong.
    HTC dm, don't know.
Sound set is you main sound process that the phone uses.
I don't believe there's a need to stop any of these, they don't take up any cpu or battery life, don't believe you can remove them either without rooting the phone. And idk why two calendar services run on the phone but I have the same thing.
