UK Vodafone ROM/RUU finally available here, for those waiting for this before trying to Root your Desire on Vodafone.

Big thanks to Tommy at shipped-roms.com for finding it!

Yeah I'm on Vodaphone, and I haven't got a clue what this is. Is this Froyo? If so, how do I update my phone. Or is there a readme included?

    What exactly does it update?

Excuse my ignorance. Still pretty new at the workings/behind the scenes things that goes on with Android phones.

Correct me if im wrong but i believe this is the standard desire vodafone rom.

Im also guessing this means that if you root your desire and then decide that root is not for you, you can flash the phone back to factory condition using the above rom.

    Is that correct ?

I am about 80% sure that you can flash any RUU no matter what you are on at the moment. Basically, you don't need to flash to something else, then update.

I asked a similar question on modaco. I have a rooted 2.1 and asked if I could just wait until Froyo was launched, then flash from rooted 2.1 straight to unrooted 2.2, and apparently, yes, this is possible.

In a similar way, you should be able to flash straight to the above.

This is the vodafone rom. It will allow you to go back to a vodafone branded phone if you have flashed your phone / rooted it. Then you need to return it for any warranty issues.

Thank you for posting this. I have been waiting for this just incase

    Spot on.

Been holding off rooting until this became available, because as you say, just in case something goes wrong and need to return the phone.
