    Hi,

I've currently got a myZeo headband, which is for tracking your sleep pattern. However, it looks like they've gone out of business now, so I can't get spares for it any more.

I was reading up about the app S Health, and how it can track your sleep patterns as well. I checked the app, but can't see anything specifically for tracking sleep (if it does other stuff too, I'm not against that :D)

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what to look at? (price is a little bit of an issue, but I want something thats gonna last)

    Thanks!

    Andy

I use a FitBit One and it tracks sleep (shows me how many times I woke up etc). Not sure how much info about sleep patterns you are looking for though.

Like Petrah I started with the Fitbit One, then moved to the FitBit Force, simply because I didn't like having to keep it in my pocket. Functionally they're the same.

It's sleep logging is decent, with your choice of two sensitivity settings. I've attached one of my logs here so you can see what it tracks (as you'll likely note, I'm not really very good at sleeping... :) ).

Thanks for the replies guys/gals :)

So what is the difference with the "FitBit Force" and "FitBit One"? I was having a look on Amazon.co.uk, and I can't find the "force" one, but I do see a "flex" ... are these the same?

NB- that tracker looks perfect for what I'm after. I'm a bit of a rubbish sleeper myself, so I like to try and keep track, so I can see what things affect me the most :)

    TIA

Oh geeze, yours looks just like mine lol. It normally takes me 30 minutes or more to pass out, but after a week of severe insomnia I just passed out. Still didn't sleep well.

I keep mine clipped to my bra during the day, which is perfect as it's not noticeable at all. But at night it's kind of a pain. The wrist device you can get for it isn't comfy, and attaching it to my nightshirt is inconvenient, so I went to the Hobby shop and bought some soft material to make a necklace type deal... so now the Fitbit clips to that and hangs around my neck. Much more comfy that way for me.

I always fall asleep fairly quickly, it just doesn't last long.
Like you, I get one 'good' night's sleep every 7 - 10 days, simply because the body just shuts down. I'm not sure it's 'sleep' as much as 'passing out' :)
'Good' in this instance is defined as over 5 hours of sleep, if I hit 6 hours it's a major milestone.
It's been this way since I was in my teens (40 years, give or take). I'm quite accustomed to it by now, but there are times when I'd REALLY like to know what a full night of sleep would be like... :)

Spoiled. I rarely sleep at all (maybe an hour a night if I'm lucky).

haha I didn't realise this would become a chat on sleep patterns :D LOL

My sleep pattern is pretty crappy too, as I've had a cough for over 1 1/2 years now, and its still going (the specialist says its just my "smokers cough" going away... and he's seen it take 2 to 2 1/2 years in some people :S)... and that gives me bad nights sleep (not to mention taking ages to get to sleep!)

Anywho, we diverge =) For me, I see these 2 options:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/FitBit-Wire...ie=UTF8&qid=1386273245&sr=8-2&keywords=FitBit
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fitbit-Wire...ie=UTF8&qid=1386273263&sr=8-1&keywords=FitBit

By the sounds of it, the one that you put on your wrist is gonna be the better option?

    Thanks!

It's going to be what you think might be more comfortable. Id read through the reviews for both (reading the bad ones first and taking into account how silly people can be with their reviews. ie; giving a bad review based on shipping time). I was reading on there that the Android app for it wasn't available in some countries... so make sure you'll have access to everything you need, too.

    Thanks - I think the one with the strap will work best for me. This is what I used to have (when the company were not bust, and I could buy spares!);

Not very comfortable, as it goes over your forehead :/

Thanks again - I'll have a better read of the reviews in the morning, but I think its gonna be the "Flex" I'm gonna go for.

    Cheers

Double check the specs on the Flex, I don't THINK it doesn't the sleep pattern thing, I think you have to go to the Force to get that.
However I don't have their specs memorized, so I could certainly be wrong. :)
Edit: it does track sleep, but it doesn't count stairs climbed - which I care about since I
walk a lot of stairs during the day.

Pretty sure it does :) For flex:

    • Records steps taken, distance traveled, calories burned
    • Record active minutes, hours slept, quality of sleep
    • Silent wake alarm, water resistant
    • Track your goals with online and Mobile tools
    • Set your goals and sync your stats

Yep, I was editing my comment at the same time you were writing yours. :)

It does log sleep, however it doesn't count stairs.

Ya, the stairs thing isn't too much of an issue for me. I was actually only looking for a sleep tracker, so the fact it does all the other stuff (at such a reasonable price) is a total bonus for me. I remember spending a good

I just thought I'd come back and post something about this. I got the fitbit flex, and love it!

Its so nice being able to track your steps, and not needing to remember to put something in your pocket every time you go out. I've already been hitting my 10k steps a day... and even hit 29k on one day... damn my legs hurt the next day! ;)

Anywho, if anyone is considering getting it - I'd highly recommend it. I've lost 5lbs in just over 2 weeks, simply by hitting my 10k target, and doing a few lengths every now and then

Dang. 29k is 8 hours at one step per second or four hours at two per second! Good work!

    hi everyone.
i have just (last night) started using using a sleep tracking app on an android phone.
    (for insomnia issues.)
I'm not sure what it is called - my nephew installed it for me & has lent me the phone.

it (the sleep tracker) has a free 14 day trial then is extremely cheap to buy, about
