Help S2 completely dead :(

Hi guys, first post here and I hope someone can help me out.

I've had my S2 since launch and it's been fine other than needing a new charging port a couple of months back.

Put the phone on charge last night, was working perfectly, come back to it this morning and it's completely dead; not showing charging screen, or any other signs of life.

Have tried a fully charged different battery in it, no luck. 2 different chargers (not a Samsung one though), have tried getting into recovery/download mode, not sure what happens when I connect it to my computer yet although I suspect not much.

Getting the phone working again would be nice but the main thing i'm bothered about is the pictures on the internal memory - is there any way to get those back?

One thing I will add is that I fell asleep when using the phone last night. This morning when I tried the car charger the plug felt extremely loose and the light on the charger to show there was a phone plugged in didn't come on. Could I have dislodged something in the charging jack that's stopping the phone coming on?

Suggestion: try turning the phone off, take off the battery and press the power button for at least 10 seconds or more without power. if you feel the power button is not working somehow, leave the unit without power for at least 2-5 minutes. Then re-assemble the battery, plug your unit with power, and try turning it on.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it sounds like your phone died. Initially I thought it could just be the USB port dislodging from the motherboard but you said you tried fully juiced batteries and it still didn't come on.

If that's the case, I'm sorry for you lose.

As far as getting your pictures from internal memory, I have no clue how you'd achieve that since the phone won't power on.

My S2 has just died aswell, also had since launch.

I have revived it a little, I have the screen working as when I plug in the charger, the battery indicator now shows, I just can't get it to boot the system up at all.
Will keep trying.

Edit; Day 13: I know that there is power running through the chips under the heatsink above the SD card slot and to the right of the sim slot as I can get sparks by running a small screwdriver across those areas.
I've riced the phone 3 times and it still doesn't work so it's not a moisture problem.
Home key works as the screen lights up when I press it, while charge screen is showing.

It may just be the power button circuit leaf that is the problem- of which I could replace and solder on myself. However I figure this isn't the solution as before the phone died, I had the screen working half the time, just not showing it (I could get music to play while the screen was black by remembering where the menu options were located). However again, the screen does not light up to full brightness after pressing the power key while on the charge screen, so...
(While the screen worked without showing it, the capacitives lit up, now they don't)

I also forgot to mention that before the phone died, it failed to shut down properly a couple of times, it would theoretically shut down, but the bottom keys stayed on and the phone heated up quite a lot. I have eliminated the batteries as the problem.

I've looked over the whole circuit board with a magnifier and can't see any problems, but it definately seems as though there is a dead spot somewhere, the only clues I have are:
*Power button doesn't seem to to work or be acknowledged by charge screen, even after roughing it up a quite bit
*Bottom capacitives do not light up, which should happen when pressing the home key (which does work) on the charging screen. So something is preventing that.
*Volume buttons work as they do light up the charging screen.
*Vibration mechanism works as demonstrated by reaching full charge, so power is getting up there.

If only there was a micro usb plug in diagnostic tool that gives error codes, like for cars.
