    hi guys,

I have s2. had a ICS which was in a rooted state. Upgraded to Jelly bean using ODIN v1.85 and GT-I9100-INU-I9100XWLST-1366616697
Its in unrooted stage now and i want to root it. tried flashing it with siyah Siyah-s2-v6.0b4 first and Siyah-s2-v6.0b5 later. I get a triangle while booting and the about phone column shows the kernel as siyah. Tried the root checker and it says phone has no root access. Kindly advise where i went wrong.

Hello and welcome to Android Forums susuguy! :)

Try starting from the very beginning all over again and re-flash the kernel by following the step-by-step instructions and videos in the Rooting Galaxy S2 - Dummies Guide on the All Things Root forum.

You will need to read it carefully and thoroughly and use all the downloads it links you to, including the newer version of Odin.

this hasn't solved my problem. i did as you told and re-flashed the kernel. my phone is still not rooted. i can see CWM and stweaks in the menu but unable to see super user. root checked says phone is not rooted. stweaks shows blank when opened.

    1. Which model of Galaxy S2 do you have?

    2. As per #1.5, which Android version are you on?

    3. Which kernel are you using to root the phone?

    4. What is your kernel version showing in Settings > About phone > Kernel version?
