I have searched and searched all through the internet to find a solution. I am afraid that there is no solution.

My S5 just started recently not screen rotating. I believe it started about a month ago.

I have cleaned out the cache in recovery mode, booted it up in safe mod, did a factory reset and its still the same.

Can someone please give me a hand with this. Driving me mad not knowing why.

    Thank You

Well if the gyroscope is broken, it needs repair. Take it to a shop. Or buy a replacement phone.

I got that, i was looking to see if there was anything i forgot to try. Most shops i called wont because its connected to the motherboard apparently.

We are currently waiting on my gf to get off her contract before we look at getting new phones together. I would rather use this and try to fix until getting a new phone

I've heard some devices have gyroscopes that are prone to getting "stuck" & a strong tap, followed by a reboot, jars it back into working order:

I had exactly this and managed to 100% fix it.

I remembered it started happening after I selected 'stop' on a load of 'pre-installed' bloat-ware on the phone (that I couldn't uninstall as option wasn't available). Google and Samsung apps that sounded like stuff I'd never use.

I started all those lot up again, rebooted the phone - and wahay perfect fix! Turns out one of the apps that sounds useless ALSO does the screen rotation as well as its pitiful, useless thing!

If this fix works for you - post something here so I feel all good about myself :)
