Can the screen/digitizer be replaced and the phone salvaged to the point of manual data recovery?

  1. have the screen and Digitizer replaced and pray it works long enough to back the phone up,

So let me start by saying this, i messed up, now on to the problem,
earlier yesterday i put my phone on the charger beside my bed and left to the kitchen for 15 minutes,
my English bulldog thought it would be a wise idea to rip the thing off the cord and just go to town on it,
the phone screen is busted/demolished, the center home button is intact the side buttons are intact, but the application button and the back button were chewed down to the lcd,
what i'm wondering is, are the internals done for? there was a fairly durable case on the phone and a screen protector on it,

the phones layer of glass is busted and partially non existent in some parts, the phones notification light still blinks and the buttons still light up and partially respond, but when i get it passed the lock screen (by sound because the display is completely broken Digitizer included) it emits a constant pulsing vibration in one second intervals, as if a button is depressed,

i would assume because the button is smashed in, to get to the point i have non backed up photos of a recently deceased animal on there and no way to get them off without the screen working, trust me when i say i've tried everything including download mode android recovery system/samsung kies/ normal pc backup ( wont work because usb debugging isn't on), even the good old fashioned MHL mouse and hdmi cable won't work because the "S6 EDGE + is a model that no longer supports it"

might i add the tabs button works ok and back button barley works, when the phone was first broken it displayed my lock screen then started Artifacting then showing only a small portion glitching in the corner now nothing, the phone gets a little warm while in use ( i suspect light/minimal battery damage), so the question is, is it worth it to have a professional phone repair tech install the front assembly and it will work long enough for me to back it up then file a claim for a broken phone?, oh and the back of the phone is fine, also no clue if the dogs saliva did internal damage,

Could have a look at phone repair, but if the phone isn't operating at all, like say the logic board is damaged, crushed, chewed and won't work. You'll likely need professional forensic data recovery specialists to have any chance of getting your data back, extremely expensive. Something like Drive Savers.

the phone is operating, i managed to somehow play the pandora app on my phone screen/take screen shot, i would think repairing the screen would give me enough functionality to back the phone up,
