Go into Settings, select Display, scroll down to Smart Stay, and turn OFF,then Hold Main power button in,press Restart and the camera should work.

This was fixed under an un-announced firmware update, the smart stay feature now no longer causes the camera failure problem.

s7 edge camera started working after clearing cache. Si far one day no issues. Smart stay has been off from the beginning.

I'm having this problem, and have tried all of the solutions except a hard reset:
    • Force stop and reset cache/data for the camera and gallery apps
    • Reset cache partition
    • Turn off Smart Stay
    • Reset settings
Nothing has solved it. Do I have any options left before I do a factory reset?
