S8 Plus camera settings

I just got my S8 Plus and went to take a picture. When I flip my phone to the side, 2 black bars on the sides pop up, not allowing me to use the whole screen. Is this an aspect ratio setting that needs to be changed? Please let me know, thanks!!

To use the full 12MP camera you have to shoot in 4:3 aspect ratio. Filling the entire display bumps that down to 7.9MP. So no, it doesn't need to be changed.

That's the megapixels. 4:3 = 12MP. 18.5:9 (full screen) = 7.9MP.
