    Greetings everyone ,

im using my sony xperia S , rooted , unlocked boot loader , running cm 10 .

wanting to change pixel density to about 160-180 ( native is 320 ) . because at such low ppi ( pixel per inch ) you can get tablet UI . which very cool and useful if you use HDMI such as i do .

i used first an app from the market to change the ppi .. that didn't work .
then i managed to edit build prop from an app called buildprop editor . that worked . when i rebooted i got the tablet UI as expected ( but launcher kept crashing )
then i wanted to to go back to native ppi . i restored the settings and rebooted and there's the problem BOOT LOOP . i had to reflash kernel and OS . for the phone to work again .

BUT i've seen people do it without problem on a nexus 7 for example .

    Thanks a lot

So is there a way to do it safely ?

    Hello Jay!
Some apps don't work properly when the screen density is changed.
On my phone for example, I have messed with the density because I liked the way the icons looked smaller and could fit more on the screen. However, some apps didn't play nice with the density change.

So I went with a different launcher to change the way my icons looked and fit.

    Just my 2 cents:)
