Root Safely Unroot Galaxy S5 *help*

Thank you so much for your help! I have not yet attempted anything, but here are some screenshots I just took.

The first screenshot shows the message I get when I click "full unroot" in supersu.

The second screenshot shows the message I get when I click "continue" after the message pops up from clicking "full unroot"

And lastly there is a screenshot showing that my phone is, indeed, rooted.

Please guide me as to what to do.

For reference, the only thing I did with root so far is convert an app to a system app using titanium backup, which I will un-do, because I no longer need it.

Thank you :)

Well thank you, I successfully unrooted my phone via this method. But like a dingbat, I didn't select to attempt to flash stock boot image, so my phone is unrooted, and doesn't have the stock boot image....

Shit.....

My issue here is that pokemon Go (my entire reason for unrooting) seems to think my phone is still rooted, and I am guessing it is because I didn't restore my stock boot image....

So my question is:

Do I need to re-root to restore the stock boot image? If so, is re-rooting with ODIN (what I used to root in the first place) safe considering that I don't currently have the stock boot image?

If I do a factory reset on my phone, will the stock boot image be restored?

If not, what do I do?

Thanks!

@ironass , don't be mad I didn't follow your advice, sorry! :| Please advise any input you have here.

I will see what I can find on google myself in the mean time.

Thanks so much guys.

here's the guide how to unroot and s5 is back to stock. http://gs5.wonderhowto.com/how-to/unroot-restore-galaxy-s5-back-stock-0157257

maybe not sure about this site all the ways are looks like very dificult (sounds looks like of re-root) . If you are not thinking about your data you can try factory reset or re root later.

i think pokemon go says that because still su binary left on your phone. you need to hide them https://www.search4roots.com/use-pokemon-go-rooted-android-device-bypass-root-detection/ (its just hide)

you can delete su binary's (supersu cannot remove it} http://www.droidviews.com/how-to-unroot-android-devices-manually/

root browser:https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.root.browserfree&hl=en

Inform me if it's something helpful:)

I don't mind factory resetting my phone, I have already backed everything up, but I suppose I will see if I can delete the Supersu binary and see if it works. Thank you a lot!

Downloaded root browser....and there is no file named "su" showing up.

Maybe I can't see the file because I am unrooted now?

Thanks for any further input.

then try hide:) possibly just check if pokemon go runs or not after hide .

hide my root: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.amphoras.hidemyroot&hl=en

Yeah, hide my root didn't work. It says that it can't find the su binary, could be because my phone isn't rooted.
in this result i think su binary are gone. i have no ideas about why pokemon won"t run on an unrooted phone? i am again to say that did you reboot your phone after pokemon wont run? i will investigate if you say me what was pokemon go says while your phone is unrooted. on the second page post no. 3 you say's that you guess pokemon go doesnot run because you didnot restore stock boot image right? i wil check it out if there is a way to restore stock boot image. i already give one in second page post no. 4 http://gs5.wonderhowto.com/how-to/unroot-restore-galaxy-s5-back-stock-0157257
maybe you didnot like this . i going to find another

No, Pokemon go does not run on ROOTED phones as of their new update, this is why I wanted to unroot. For some reason, Pokemon Go thinks my phone is still rooted, I have not been able to play pokemon go since their last update which blocked root, which is very stupid.

@ironass Is it safe to flash my stock firmware in this state where I do NOT have the stock boot image and my phone is unrooted?

Thanks a bunch guys.

WOOHOO! THANKS SO MUCH! I followed the directions in that link, and flashed my stock firmware. I learned A LOT from this experience about android and firmwares and such. I greatly appreciate your help! My phone has been reverted back to stock, so I see no reason that Pokemon Go will not work now, but I will let you know if it doesn't.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

Have yourself a great evening.
