Can you clarify here? I saw a screen shot of someones about screen showing it had 170mb, and somewhere else someone said it had 512mb of ram. My experience with android phones shows they start going slow as shit once they have under 30mb of ram available.

Can anyone link me to, or give me a general review of the phone?

I am considering purchasing it very soon, as I like what I see so far. I just want to make sure there aren't any gotchas, and get a few general opinions on its performance, battery life, look and feel etc.

    Thanks

Samsung says that it has 512MB of RAM, but it does usually show up as 170-280 on the phone itself. It could just be that rest would be reserved for running the OS. So far I haven't had any problems multitasking and the phone runs smoothly.
The Admire is my first Android smartphone (I've had a couple of other Android devices though)

Performance- Very smooth throughout the UI. No lag when flipping though the homescreen. Smooth transitions when going to the app drawer and opening apps. Good for social networking, web surfing and basic gaming. So far I've only tried out Angry Birds and its good for the most part. You'll see some lag when levels are starting out and sometimes when there is a lot of activity on screen. I'll try out a couple of other games today, but I get the sense that it'll probably do basic games well, mid-range game ok, and probably won't do too well with high-end games.

Battery life- On a full charge I make it through an 8 hour work day easily. When I get home its usually in the 43%-38% range. Its got a big battery and it really helps.

Look and feel- Its an all plastic construction. Feels a bit light (not as light as the Galaxy S phones though), but pretty solid. Not sure what material the screen is made of, but I heard that it was Gorilla Glass. Its a bit slippery because of the plastic construction, which makes me wish that they would have used some sort of matte material instead. I've got a gel case on mine to solve that problem. The 3.5 HVGA resolution looks good. It obviously won't be Super AMOLED or Retina display good, but everything looks clear. You might notice some pixelation when you zoom in to an extreme.

Call quality- Speakerphone is nothing to really write home about. Voices are muffled although I can make out what people were saying. The mic on the other hand is good.

Titaniun Backup states this: System ROM 187 / 30.5 free.
Is this ok. What does this mean? What should I do?
