Samsung Camera sometimes doesn't take a picture

When I hit the shutter release button, I want to take a picture. Period.

But sometimes the camera app doesn't do it. Instead, it makes a 'bong' sound and briefly zooms or refocuses, and ... no picture. What's happening when it does this? (And more importantly, how do I get it to stop?)

    Phone: Samsung Galaxy S9
    Camera app: Version
    Android version: 10

You may have auto focus on.
    Check your camera app settings

Also try wiping cache for the camera app.

Thanks, but there doesn't appear to be an autofocus setting.

Done. But it didn't change anything.

    Still perplexed...

As a workaround, you can use a third-party camera app until Samsung releases an update to fix the issue.

Have you tried restarting/rebooting your phone?

There may not be enough space on your phone.
