    Hi,
I have a 9 month old Samsung galaxy Ace. When making a call as soon as the phone starts to ring the screen goes blank( although the call still continues)and if the company I am speaking to require me to "press 1 for... press 2 for... etc, I cannot get anything on my screen and so my keypad is not visible. No matter how many times I swipe the screen nothing happens. Can any one help?
    Thanks
    Jaypee

    Hi

Its normal for the screen to go off when the phone is held close to your head, so that you dont press anything with your ear! It should come back on when taken away from your ear. It uses the proximity sensor to do this.

You may have a faulty proximity sensor.

    There should be a setting:
    open the phone dialer
    menu button
    call settings
auto screen off during calls - untick it. The screen should stay on (but you need to take care not to "ear dial"!)

    Roger
