how do you set mp3 tone as message tone on samsung galaxy apollo gt-15800
Welcome to the Android Forums!
If you are referring to setting up a text messaging notification tone, you'll find that particular setup in the phones text messaging app. Go into the text messaging app, click the menu button, go to messaging options and scroll down till you see the ringtone option.
With some phones you need to load the ringtone as the default voice call ringtone first so the phone because aware of the existance of the ringtone.
thanks for your post Martimus-I can access message notification ringtone easily enough but i,m wanting to use my own message tone-you can only seem to use the tones that are there-has anyone any idea how to input your own
With some phones you have to make the phone aware of the ringtone before it will list it as an option. The easiest way I've found to do that is to use a file manager app, highlight the ringtone, long press to get a dialog menu (this process may be different depending on the file manager app used). In the dialog menu should be an option to set as ringtone. This will set it up as the default voice call ringtone. You can then set the ringtone back to your preferred ringtone and now select the new ringtone for your text messaging app.
